OUR SERVICES

GAS & GIFT CARDS

BAC helps families with food by providing grocery gift cards donated to the organization. People need additional household items (personal hygiene items, cleaning products, baby items, etc.) and grocery or department store gift cards are an ideal way to enable families to buy what they need the most. BAC hopes to partner with local grocery stores and department stores such as Walmart and Target to provide gift cards to qualifying individuals in increments of $75 and to families in increments of $125.

ASSISTANCE FOR SENIORS

We assist seniors with running errands. Our staff and volunteers are willing to help with picking up or carrying groceries and running small errands such as picking up medical prescriptions, dry cleaning, etc.

In the future, we hope to provide transportation to the grocery store, post office, department stores, church and pickup to & from the airport/train station when traveling.

NOTE: Assistance is granted based on availability of funds.

RENT ASSISTANCE

Rental Assistance and eviction prevention resources assists with paying past due rent. Eligibility is based on evidence of crisis such as an eviction notice or a reduction/loss of income. Applicants will also need to demonstrate the ability to continue to pay their monthly rent on their own after assistance is provided. For people who are currently homeless, first month’s rent or security deposits may be provided to help with move in costs.

UTILITY ASSISTANCE

BAC offers crisis intervention and utility bill assistance to stop disconnection of utility services for individuals and families. Our team helps those in need to pay their utility bills in order to get through an emergency financial crisis. The amount of assistance provided is dependent upon funding availability.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT  & LIFE SKILLS

BAC believes in more than giving money to address a temporary crisis. We help our clients with step by step strategies to improve their time management skills, stress coping skills, organizational skills and overall mental and physical well-being. Our Life Skills workshops will help BAC clients become empowered to pursue their personal and employment goals. This can also include financial literacy, developing parenting skill, and nutrition. Our overall objective is to help our participants become a well-rounded successful person in every area of your life.

YOUTH MENTORING

Oftentimes, the only thing a young person needs is someone who believes in them and can help guide them. BAC’s community-based mentoring approach gives youth ages 13-17 a variety of positive role models who can help make a difference in a young person’s life. BAC’s youth mentoring workshops will focus on the value of education, encourage teamwork, introduce financial literacy, goal setting and provide essential life skills that will help prepare them for the real world.
